Due to Awetu’s unique position in the mental health field we have taken on an additional role as provider of training courses to other voluntary, public and private sector organisations and are constantly called upon for advice about best practice to various organisations e.g., Social Workers, Student Nurses, Colleges, Women's Aid. Training sessions are based around sharing and demystifying BME peoples’ objective experiences of mental ill health and access to services. These training sessions are delivered by Awetu’s Director and our Senior Outreach Worker, with input from the other Outreach Workers. In addition our staff and management committee sit on various Boards and consult upon policy documents.
